A little attitude, a lot of imagination, and a whole lot of joy.

Created as part of Mz.Icar Collective's In Light of Us project for BLINK Cincinnati 2026, this vibrant six-color screen print celebrates Matilda in all her playful glory.

With her colorful beaded braids, bright-eyed expression, and a confident look over her shoulder, Matilda takes center stage against a backdrop of bold lettering, halftone textures, and retro-inspired graphics.

Produced in collaboration with Cincinnati's DIY Printing, using six layers of screen-printed color, the artwork brings together the nostalgic energy of vintage comics and the collective's ongoing exploration of Black girlhood, representation, and the freedom to take up space.
